The 3 C's and the importance of oil sampling
Sampling of oils, diesel fuel and other fluids requires the 3 C's, Carefully, Cleanly and Consistently with the emphasis in being able to take an oil sample safely, free from external contamination and always from the same location. As a customer, you want lubricated equipment to run longer and smoother, with less and less maintenance. Like a blood test, sampling equipment fluid regularly provides amazing insights into the condition of both the equipment and the fluid. We believe, like any good practitioner, the team that finds and fixes problems before operations is even aware, should be highly valued. Those Reliability and Maintenance teams, using oil analysis, quietly deliver safety, sustainability, and direct to bottom-line profitability, the key to the organization. We want to be part of those teams.
One extremely important part of efficient machinery operation is care of the lubrication fluids it uses. Not only is it important to have adequate and efficient filtration to keep it clean, but the lubricant also itself is often carrying indicators of potential problems therefore correct clean sampling is paramount for analysis. Among the many industries served, we include transportation-HGV, buses , marine, rail, automotive, space; production equipment- gearboxes, hydraulics, compressors, filtration; energy and renewables, food, beverage, construction, packaging, pharmaceutical; forest, oil and gas, mining resources, municipal water and many more industries.
Regular, accurate testing of the lubricant is a vital component of a good maintenance programme as it will often provide an early indicator of wear problems.
